2×2 inches in every unit you'll need
The pixel figure depends on print resolution, which is where most confusion comes from: 2×2 inches at 300 dpi is exactly 600×600 pixels, and at 600 dpi it is 1200×1200. Both are accepted for a US visa upload — which is why the 600×600 px photo page and this one describe the same square in different units.
| Unit | Value |
|---|---|
| Inches | 2 × 2 in |
| Millimetres | 51 × 51 mm |
| Centimetres | 5.1 × 5.1 cm |
| Pixels at 300 dpi | 600 × 600 px |
| Pixels at 600 dpi | 1200 × 1200 px |
